Take a French course in the elegant town of Cannes on the Mediterranean French coast. Formerly a humble fishing village, Cannes is now an exclusive destination famous for its beautiful marina, high-end restaurants and, of course, celebrity visitors. The city is the home of the annual Cannes Film Festival, which takes place in May and attracts the rich and famous from all over the world.
Although Cannes is a popular luxury holiday destination, this doesn't mean that you can't enjoy the city on a small budget. Why not take some time to explore the winding streets of Le Suquet (the old town), enjoy the beautiful views of the bay from the castle ruins and people watch on La Croisette (the port side catwalk lined with boutique shops and luxury hotels)? The two nearby islands, Île Sainte-Marguerite and Île Sainte-Honorat are also well worth a visit, with their fascinating religious and military history and beautiful landscapes.
