Study Team is a group of three language schools in Cuba (Havana, Trinidad and Santiago de Cuba) that was founded in 1977, making it the first Spanish language school on the island. The school does not have a central school building, with lessons taking place in local homes or cultural centers instead. This enables Study Team to develop both their students’ language skills and their understanding of Cuban life and culture, as well as giving students an unforgettable learning experience. The school has also partnered with a local tourist agency, Paradiso, which focuses on cultural tourism of Cuba.
In Santiago de Cuba, all lessons take place within the Reparto Sueño residential district, very close to the city center. Popular attractions such as the Céspedes Park, the cathedral, and Balcon de Velázquez are just a short walk way.
If you book a Spanish course with Study Team, you can choose to spread your program between the three schools so that you can explore the island during your stay. You will be able to continue your studies seamlessly between the cities and schools with their similar course content. It couldn’t be easier to continue your lessons in Havana and/or Trinidad after your stay in Santiago de Cuba.
Outside of their classes, many students choose to meet up and explore the city together. Once a week, the school holds a meeting when staff can assist students to plan excursions, such as trips to the Gran Piedra (the highest point on the island) or the Parque Baconao (a large park region and UNESCO world heritage site).
