LSI Zurich was opened in 1956, and since then has offered a high-quality standard of language education to the international student body. The school itself is located in a refurbished mid 19th-century building in the center of the city’s historic district, near the shores of Lake Zurich. The school is spread over three floors and has brightly lit modern classrooms. Wifi is provided throughout the building for student use.
The school is located in the Seefeld district, which is a popular district by the shores of Lake Zurich. This area has many bars, restaurants, cafes, and shops located nearby. The closest public transit stop is conveniently located just steps from the school’s door, meaning students can traverse the city with ease.
The LSI education methodology is based on full language immersion and cultural exchange as a critical part of learning a new language. The teachers encourage their students to “learn and live the language” to maximize their learning outcomes. The varied selection of courses on offer the school can be combined with outdoor activities such as trail finding, and tours of the nearby mountains and valleys, where students can practice their new skills outside of the classroom. These can be booked when you arrive at the school. The school also organizes a busy social program which includes movie nights, city tours and visits to museums. These social activities are either included as a part of the course or are offered at an affordable price for LSI students.
The LSI schools also make use of contemporary learning materials including use of audio, video and web-based resources. LSI students have the opportunity to evaluate how they are progressing by undertaking regular testing and discussing the results with their teachers. Teachers are all native speakers holding a university degree and have teaching experience.
