International House Newcastle

International House Newcastle, is a member of the International House World Organization school family, founded in 1953. It has been awarded both EAQUALS and English UK accrediting organizations thanks to the excellent quality of English teaching which it provides for its students.

IH Newcastle is located in the heart of the university city Newcastle-upon-Tyne. From here, students can easily access different parts of town using the public transport system which is located just minutes from the school itself. The district surrounding the school has numerous restaurants, parks, and interesting sites for students to visit between classes. The school itself is located in a large Victorian Era building which has since been completely remodeled. The school’s ample classrooms are spread across four stories which can be reached using the building’s elevator. The school also has a cafeteria where students can share their lunches with their fellow classmates. There is plenty of space for students to relax between class and a busy activity program which students can also participate in during their spare time.

The school has a great number of courses on offer to suit all of their student’s needs. The teaching methodology focuses on improving students’ learning experiences, taking into consideration their needs and interests. This encourages motivation for improved progress using the language in practical everyday situations.

The IH Newcastle team prepares a weekly activities program including weekend excursions. All students of IH Newcastle can participate in these activities as a part of their course, or if they are not included, at an affordable price. The exciting activities program includes visiting historical sites of interest, like the towns of Edinburgh and Northumbria, visits to bars and restaurants or excursions to the countryside and markets, amongst others.

All teachers at IH Newcastle hold a university degree and DELTA certifícate (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) or CELTA certifícate (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
