Language courses abroad in Bolivia
Take a Spanish course in Bolivia and discover the country's rich culture and surreal natural landscapes.
Of all the countries in the Andean region, Bolivia has the most indigenous influences. Marks of traditional culture are everywhere and give you an authentic insight into a different way of life that links back to the pre-Colombian era. The country's political capital, Sucre, is lined with beautiful white colonial buildings, leading many to consider it one of South America’s most attractive cities. Only a few hours away is the incredible Salar de Uyuni, a salt flat spanning over 10,000 square kilometers. It is one of the country’s most iconic sites and varies between being a white shiny salt plain in dry periods and becoming completely reflective after the rain, both being equally awe-inspiring.
Bolivia is a fantastic destination for outdoor activities with daredevil mountain biking on la Paz’s famous 'Death Road' and sailing on Lake Titicaca, the continent’s largest lake that straddles the Bolivian-Peruvian border. You can also visit the incredibly dry Atacama Desert, the Amazon basin and the old mining town of Potosí.
Bolivians speak a very pure Spanish that is easier to understand than that which is spoken in some of its neighboring South American countries. Most indigenous people also speak their culture’s original language, of which there are thirty-six in Bolivia, the most popular ones being Quechua and Aymara.
