At CIAL's Faro school, students are invited to learn Portuguese in a relaxed and tranquil setting in one of Portugal's most beautiful tourist destinations. The CIAL chain first opened its doors in 1959, and prides itself on offering a high quality of Portuguese language education since. The school has received recognition for its high standards, winning Study Travel Magazine's Star World Language School 2015. The school is also accredited by Equals and International Association of Language Centres (IALC), two accrediting organizations for quality language courses.
The Faro school opened in 1989, combining the high-quality education offered by the CIAL chain with a beautiful location in the Algarve. It is a small school with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, which ensures that all students feel at home and comfortable in their language learning. Faro is a relatively small town, however, the school is still well located, just a block from the town's Municipal Market and walking distance to the town's marina.
The school itself is on the upper floor of a two story white building, set on a traditional tiled street lined with trees. There are many services nearby including banks, shops, cafes and restaurants. The building looks down onto a beautiful garden and has a terrace which students can relax on with their fellow classmates.
The CIAL learning methodology is based on setting clear student aims with structured lessons. However, learning continues outside of the classroom when students participate in the interesting program of activities prepared by the school. Activities include city tours, visits to museums and monuments, and cultural activities such as typical Portuguese drink and sweets tastings. These are all included as a part of the course price for students at the CIAL Faro school. The school can also organize events such as dinners for an affordable price for students.
Teachers at CIAL are all native Portuguese speakers holding a university degree and have undergone teacher training at CIAL.
