Take a Spanish course in Cartagena, one of Colombia's most beautiful and safest cities.
Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cartagena was one of the first cities the Spanish settled in and as a result has some beautiful colonial architecture. The old town combines cobbled streets, Andalusian churches and charming plazas, all surrounded by the city’s stone walls. Just outside the walls you will find the up and coming Getsemaní barrio, lined with trendy bars and colorful street art. Cartagena is known for its fantastic restaurants and night life, with plenty of great music to be enjoyed both in the bars and on the streets.
Cartagena is right on the Caribbean coast, but if you take a day trip a little further afield, you will find some postcard perfect white sandy beaches. As well as soaking up the sunshine and bathing in the turquoise water, there are various water sports available including scuba diving, surfing, windsurfing, jet skiing and much more.
