Situated on the banks of the Loire River, overlooked by the town’s castle, Amboise is a beautiful place from which to start a tour of the valley and its famous castles and vineyards. The region was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000 and there are many ways to explore it, including canoeing the river or cycling through the valley.
