Founded in 1989, Academia Latinoamericana is one of the most prestigious language schools in Quito. The school has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and offers courses in small groups to ensure all students can actively take part in each lesson. Some lessons are taught outside so that you can take advantage of the pleasant climate. Housed in a beautiful colonial house with an inner patio, Academia Latinoamericana is located in La Carolina, one of Quito's residential neighborhoods.
The school offers you the chance to combine learning Spanish with travelling around South America. Academia Lationamericana has three schools: Quito in Ecuador, Cusco in Peru and Sucre in Bolivia. If you start your course in one school, you can continue easily in another and you won't have to pay the registration fee again. The school also specializes in the offering of volunteering projects, both in and outside of Quito. Students can combine their Spanish learning with a volunteering project in areas including community development, social work and working with animals.
Outside of your classes, the school offers an activity program which might include trips in the city centre, football games, cinema outings and dance lessons. If you are particularly interested in learning more about the local culture and getting to know Quito better, you can choose to combine your Spanish lessons with extra activities in the culture course, in which your teacher will take you to museums, markets, cathedrals and much more each afternoon.
