LAL stands for “Language and Leisure”, and the school believes that the best way to learn a language is not just in the classroom, but through being immersed and participating in daily real life activities. Since the school was founded in 1995, they have been providing English language courses for students who come from all over the world to the sunny state of Florida. The LAL school is recognized by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA), an independent agency which measures the quality of English language teaching institutions.
The LAL school is located in a refurbished modern building with fully equipped classrooms and ample space for students to study or relax between their fun and engaging classes. The building also has a swimming pool and terrace where students can enjoy the Florida sunshine. The school is also a Cambridge exan center, where students can take the exam on completion of their course. It is equipped with air conditioning for particularly warm days and the beach is located just a ten-minute bike ride away. There are restaurant and shopping facilities which are easily accessible either walking or by public transport from the school.
The team will make students feel welcome from when they arrive at the school, and encourage them to start practicing their new language skills with a large number of extracurricular activities. There are many free activities included in the course price such as a book club, cinema, XBOX tournaments and conversation club. There are also other excursions (which have an additional cost) to local sites of interest such as the Everglades National Park, theme parks or baseball games.
Apart from having a welcoming and friendly school and staff, the LAL teachers are all certified with a minimum of a CELTA qualification and have experience as teachers of English as a foreign language. Many hold a university degree as teachers of English as a foreign language and some have even been teaching at the school since it’s opening.
